League Issues 5-Game Suspensions for Brawl Friday, July 14th, 2062 At a recent Wolverines-Juans contest at Gumlog Grounds, Tom Brown of Yellowknife took exception to what Dustin Ward of Don said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 5 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." This year Brown is hitting .345 with 2 home runs. Ward has no saves this season with a won-lost record of 3-2 and 6.00 ERA. |
