Brighton Sweeps Round 3 Monday, September 12th , 2072 The Brighton Fightin' Squirrels rolled over the Lancaster Lightning 10-5 at Guerilla Ballpark to easily win the 2072 Round 3 crown. Brighton won in a walk and swept the series from the Lightning 4-0. It was their 14th championship title. Winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Lightning "a fine team." "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Round 3." The Fightin' Squirrels took first place in the Pacific League Central Division and rounded out the year with a 92-28 record. View Boxscore |
