Chicken Haulers Lose at Home, 8-3
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Honolulu High Tide and Amarillo Chicken Haulers.
The Honolulu High Tide topped the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 8-3, at The Chicken Coop. Honolulu left fielder Naomi Matsumura was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Today's win puts Honolulu at 35-41, while Amarillo falls to 36-40.
With Honolulu leading 4-1 in the top of the seventh, Matsumura hit a fastball from Bill Roberts for a grand slam home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the High Tide ahead, 8-1.
"What we get, we earn," Matsumura told the Honolulu News.
