Cheesesteaks Beaten By Bearers, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring contest between the St. Paul Bearers and the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, Bob McKinney, who is tied for 5th in the FR in saves with 13, proved to be the difference. The St. Paul right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Bearers win. Erik Watson picked up his 6th save of the season. St. Paul now has a record of 39-38 with the win.
Gary Escamilla, who is on pace for 120 RBI this season, took Philadelphia hurler Amado Ortíz deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Bearers on top, 2-0. In all, Escamilla had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Bob was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said St. Paul manager .
