The Havana Comrades did just enough to secure a victory over the Death Valley Burn, 5-4, at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Kinji Kanda. The winner was Jeff Adelman in relief. His record improves to 4-3. António Mireles took the loss. The Comrades raised their record to 33-50.

Johnny Shields was the walk-off hero for Havana. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Comrades second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Kinji was throwing free and easy," said Havana manager Bryce Marquis.
