Ridge Raptors Sneak By Cheesesteaks, 5-4
|
The Redstone Ridge Raptors faced a tough opponent in Philadelphia pitcher Paul Davis, but did just enough to pull out the victory at William Penn Park by a final score of 5-4. Davis went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Redstone reliever Quinn Lindsay picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Clint Kimball was tagged with the loss. David Flint, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Timely hitting helped the Ridge Raptors beat the Cheesesteaks. Prime example: the two-out single Dale Pérez registered in the top of the ninth. Facing Clint Kimball, Pérez gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"I was a little disappointed," said Philadelphia manager Joey Santangelo. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The loss puts Philadelphia at 2-7.
