Both teams had their chances, but the Cape Canaveral Launch eventually prevailed.

The Cape Canaveral Launch picked up a win at Krono Field, knocking off the Orlando Rum Runners, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jon Gilmore played a key role in the triumph. Gilmore got the win, improving to 15-2. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Gilmore allowed 4 runs.

Cape Canaveral used a timely hit from Dean Lewis to get the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Launch ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Gilmore told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
