Iowa Gets 8-2 Win
|
Getting offensive support from Jesús Polilla, the Iowa Crop Circles topped the Crab Apple Cove Mashers, 8-2. Polilla was 2-4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Crop Circles. The winner was Clyde Barfoot, who threw 93 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits. Crab Apple Cove, with the loss, is 7-5.
With Iowa leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Polilla hit a fastball from Randolph Fix for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Crop Circles ahead, 3-0.
