The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates beat the San Jose Cuervo, 8-3, at Liquor Luge. Gordon Smith, who is tied for 5th in the FR in triples with 6, starred for Glacier Bay. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Glacier Bay goes to 63-55, San Jose to 73-45.
With Glacier Bay trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Smith hit a 2-run single off San Jose hurler Fernando Rodríguez. It was the 124th hit of the season for Smith and put his team ahead, 2-1.
