Burn Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
					 |

The Death Valley Burn spoiled a good performance by Iowa third baseman Emílio Ibarra, bumping off Iowa, 5-4, at The Burn Yard. Ibarra went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Brandon Holcomb, who is a five-time All-Star, picked up the win in relief. Roberto Mendoza took the loss for Iowa. The Burn go to 63-58, putting them third in the Frontier Southern.
The Burn were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 23-year old second baseman Francisco Ojeda landed a big blow. He turned a first pitch fastball from Roberto Mendoza into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the The Burn Yard denizens into a frenzy and sent the Burn home with a thrilling 5-4 win.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Ojeda.
