Mathew Rhodes was superb against Death Valley. The right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Crop Circles victory. The score was 7-4. Judd Pérez, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2073 draft, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Miguel Cervantes earned the save for Iowa, his 4th of the year.

Larry MacIntosh hit a 2-run double off Pepe Guillén in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Crop Circles in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, MacIntosh had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.

"Mathew pitched his heart out," said Iowa manager Andy Ward.
