Bearers Tuck Away 4-1 Win Over Laredo
|
Getting an impressive start from Jorge Romero, St. Paul beat Laredo by the score of 4-1. Romero picked up the win for St. Paul, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The last-place Bearers improved to 54-69.
St. Paul used a well-timed hit by Robbie Colón to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bearers ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Colón told the St. Paul Herald. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
