Jail Break Deal Ice Pirates 3-1 Loss
|
Leonard Johnston never let Glacier Bay get something going. The Alcatraz Island right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Jail Break to a 3-1 win. Johnston, now 9-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The Jail Break have an impressive 78-48 record.
The result might have been different for Alcatraz Island, had it not been for Scot Potter, the three-time All-Star . Potter stroked a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Alcatraz Island up, 3-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Johnston attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
