Crop Circles Rally Late to Nip Border Jumpers
Iowa Crop Circles starter Leonard Johnston pitched a strong game against the Laredo Border Jumpers at The Cornfield, leading the Crop Circles to victory, 4-3. Iowa reliever Alberto Cota snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Luke Fletcher shouldered the loss. Bob Bryant got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Iowa took a 4-2 lead on Bruce Anderson's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Anderson hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Laredo pitcher John Gates visibly frustrated.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Anderson. "You've got to get results."

Laredo is 3-9 after the defeat.
