Militia Take Tight Tangle
|
In a low-scoring affair between Michigan Militia and the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, pitcher Bryan Burton was the difference-maker. The Michigan left-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 1-0 win. Michigan pitcher Matt Barraclough earned the win, hiking his record to 7-2. Leroy Welch suffered the loss. Dave Kennedy earned the save, his 38th in 40 tries.
Michigan took a 1-0 lead on Brian Bowen's 24th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Bowen hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Amarillo pitcher Leroy Welch visibly frustrated.
Michigan manager commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
Michigan has won 5 straight, while Amarillo has lost 4 in a row.
