Crop Circles Prevail, 5-4, Over San Jose
|
Rafael Colchado had a good game, but he could not keep the San Jose Cuervo from falling, 5-4, to the Iowa Crop Circles at Welsh Field. The San Jose third baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. James Stephens, credited with the save, is now 25 for 28 in save opportunities. The Crop Circles go to 56-82 with the win.
Clyde Ashe drove in one run for Iowa. The 31-year old designated hitter had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Iván Ruíz. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"Both teams played hard," said Iowa manager Andy Ward.
