Lake Monsters Get Clutch Win Versus Michigan
The Vermont Lake Monsters downed the Michigan Militia, 8-7, at Welsh Field. Paul King led the way, going 3-for-4 for Vermont. Vermont sits in last place in the Appalachian Northern at 57-81.

The decisive blow was delivered by Roger Hoover in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Dawson James to win the game for Vermont. The home crowd went nuts.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hoover told the Vermont Herald. "It's as simple as that."
