Crop Circles Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
The Laredo Border Jumpers locked up a win at The Cornfield, knocking off the Iowa Crop Circles, 5-2. On the mound for Laredo was right-hander Jon Gilmore. He played a major role in the triumph. The Crop Circles fall to 7-9 and continue their lackluster start in 2075.
The Border Jumpers got a big hit from third baseman Claudio Moreno. Facing Iowa pitcher Bob Bryant in the top of the fifth, Moreno pounded a run-scoring double to right-center. His 1st double of the season put the Border Jumpers ahead, 4-1.
"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Gilmore.
