Border Jumpers Take Nail-Biter Over Railbirds
Led by Roger Sprouse, the Laredo Border Jumpers defeated the Reading Railbirds, 10-8. Sprouse was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Border Jumpers. The Border Jumpers raised their record to 57-84.

Laredo got a knockout punch from Ernesto Moreno. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
