Ice Pirates Stumble, Lose to Comrades
|
Good production from right fielder Dave Erwin helped the Havana Comrades topple the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates, 8-4. Erwin went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Comrades. The Ice Pirates, now 77-65, have lost 5 straight.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Erwin hit a 3-run home run off Armando Ramos. It propelled the Comrades into the lead, 4-1.
Erwin told the Havana Herald: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
