Ice Pirates Win at Havana, 6-3
|
Glacier Bay left fielder Ben Brown was instrumental in helping the Ice Pirates triumph, 6-3, over the Havana Comrades. Brown was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Ice Pirates, at 78-65, sit in second place in the Frontier Coastal.
Glacier Bay used the timely hitting of Mabuchi Fujihara to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ice Pirates on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Brown called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
