Reading starter Adrián Jiménez had a strong outing against the St. Paul Bearers at Casket County Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Reading pitcher Martín Burgos got the win. He's now 1-0. Bob McKinney was tagged with the loss. Fernando Franco closed the door for Reading, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Reading took a 4-3 lead on Sherman Parks's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Parks hit in the top of the 12th, left St. Paul pitcher Louie Nelson visibly frustrated.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Railbirds manager Slam Dunks.

The Railbirds, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.
