Monuments Handed 6-4 Loss by West Island
|
The West Island Storm topped the Washington Monuments by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Kuei-lin Chia. Chia was 4 for 4 with 4 singles for the Storm. Juan Marino earned the save, his 7th, for the Storm. The win has West Island at 19-10.
The Storm got a big at-bat from first baseman Francisco Olivares. For the game, Olivares went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave West Island a 5-3 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Chia.
