Reading got a terrific performance from pitcher Juan Gallardo, but it wasn't enough to beat the St. Paul Bearers. St. Paul won the Casket County Stadium contest, 3-2. Gallardo threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball for the losing team. Reliever Roberto Delgado picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Fernando Franco took the loss. Reading is now 3-1.

St. Paul took a 3-2 lead on Donald Christian's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Reading pitcher Fernando Franco in the bottom of the eighth.

"It was a good effort all around," said Christian.
