The first-place Reading Railbirds picked up another win.

Reading catcher Fernando Gómez made his presence felt in the 10-1 Railbirds triumph over the West Island Storm. Gómez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Railbirds, now 22-9, have been playing some good baseball.

The Railbirds got an important contribution from left fielder Sherman Parks, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-1 knuckleball into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Railbirds ahead, 9-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Parks told the Reading Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
