The Reading Railbirds took West Island pitcher Ron Collins's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Schuylkill Landing Park. The final score had Reading getting past the Storm, 6-5. Collins went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 9. Reading pitcher José Méndez got the win. He's now 2-3. Juan Marino was tagged with the loss. The win gives Reading a season record of 24-9.

Dave Rouse was the walk-off hero for Reading. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Railbirds center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Rouse told the Reading Citizen: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
