Mashers Hand Washington 4-0 Loss

The Crab Apple Cove Mashers beat the Washington Monuments, 4-0, at The Grand Lodge. Starting pitcher Jeff Poe was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Poe picked up the win for Crab Apple Cove, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. Howard Davis, who finished 5th in the FR in saves with 35 last year, nailed down the save.
Danny Bell had a direct impact on the outcome. Bell contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Crab Apple Cove up, 1-0.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Crab Apple Cove manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
The Mashers have an impressive 22-13 record.
