High Tide Sunk by Ice Pirates
|
Starting pitcher José Alba fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates stymie the Honolulu High Tide, 4-1. Alba yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-0. Jonathan Bower wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
The Ice Pirates got a big at-bat from left fielder Tim Cole. For the game, Cole was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Glacier Bay a 3-1 lead.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Honolulu manager Mark Sambor.
