Jail Break Hand Ice Pirates 6-5 Loss
|
Alcatraz Island first baseman Kent Trumble played a vital role in his team's 6-5 conquest of Glacier Bay. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Alcatraz Island. Ryan White got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Scott Jenkins earned the save for Alcatraz Island, his 10th.
Trumble had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Ben Young, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Jail Break a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Trumble.
"Kent showed up tonight," said Alcatraz Island manager Justin Fusco.
Alcatraz Island is now 25-13, 8 games up in the Frontier Coastal.
