Dan Shirley of the Rum Runners was unstoppable in his team's 12-4 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Krono Field. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Orlando right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."

Dan Shirley singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Pablo Román in the 8th.
