Dave Erwin had a good game, but he could not keep the Reading Railbirds from falling, 9-6, to the Laredo Border Jumpers at BackWet Stadium. The Reading left fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once in the loss. Mike Murdock, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Andrew Dougherty closed it out for his 12th save.

Making an impact for the home team was Dave Hall. In the bottom of the fourth, the 30-year old right fielder had a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-2, Border Jumpers.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Hall.

Laredo leads the Frontier Southern by 2 games.
