Washington Monuments starter Gabriel Beltrán was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Amarillo Chicken Haulers, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Beltrán, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. Brandon Holcomb earned the save for Washington, his 3rd of the year.
Rodrigo Carrillo went 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Washington. The 31-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tim Hunt. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
