Lake Monsters Come Up Short at Amarillo, 4-3
Dave Bailey did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Vermont Lake Monsters from being beaten, 4-3, to the Amarillo Chicken Haulers at The Chicken Coop. Bailey slugged 2 home runs. Ryan Wheeler earned the save for Amarillo, his 3rd of the year. Amarillo sits in third place in the Appalachian Southern at 23-21.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Jim Kaufman, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2069 draft, hit a double. The Chicken Haulers went on to win.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Vermont manager Kevin Tucker said, following the tough loss.
