Magicians Win Thriller, 4-3
|
Bill Foley had a good game, but he could not keep the Amarillo Chicken Haulers from falling, 4-3, to the Michigan Magicians at Assembly Line Grounds. The Amarillo right fielder hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. Michigan reliever Daniel Peterson picked up the win to move to 1-0. Chris Ward suffered the loss. Michigan is now 22-25.
The decisive blow was delivered by Kyle Harris in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Ward to win the game for Michigan. The home crowd went nuts.
Michigan manager Henry Lehrer said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
