Bearers Get Past Iowa for 4-3 Win
|
St. Paul beat Iowa on the strength of starting pitcher Ronald Braun's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Jermaine Bennett nailed down his 14th save. The 4th-place Bearers lifted their record to 26-23.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Carlos Morales? The 26-year old left fielder Morales stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put St. Paul up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Braun.
