Atlantic City Beats Washington, 3-2
|
Atlantic City designated hitter Will Turner contributed to his team's 3-2 win over the Washington Monuments. Turner, who led the FR in OPS with 1.134 in 2063, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Aces. Richard Aubert, the winning pitcher, is now 1-7. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 3. Paco Cruz recorded his 7th save for Atlantic City.
Turner had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Terry Pinnell, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Aces a 3-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Turner.
"I was a little disappointed," said Washington manager Ed Malloy. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Atlantic City is third in the Appalachian Coastal with a record of 20-28.
