Jail Break Topple Border Jumpers with Late Rally

The Alcatraz Island Jail Break picked up a win at BackWet Stadium, courtesy of Chris Mitchell. The right-hander helped his team stop the Laredo Border Jumpers, 3-2. Mitchell, now 2-4, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The Jail Break own a robust 31-18 mark.
Alcatraz Island used the timely hitting of Ryan Flint to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jail Break on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"That's baseball," said Laredo manager Dave Galindo. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
