Campbell Goes Deep Twice in 8-5 Railbirds Win
Waylon Campbell was a major contributor to the 8-5 Reading win over Alcatraz Island. The Railbirds shortstop went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice. Sean Springfield earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-1. The save went to Héctor Rodríguez, number 2 for him.

Campbell contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Reading in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Campbell took a cutter from Miguel Marrero and stroked the home run to center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Railbirds to leap in front, 5-2.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Campbell.

At 26-21, the Railbirds find themselves in third place in the Frontier Northern.
