The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates got a stellar effort from pitcher Charles Swanson, helping Glacier Bay score a win over the visiting Reading Railbirds, 3-1. The win for the Ice Pirates lifted their record to 26-24.
In the top of the ninth, Jeremy Watson stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Railbirds were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Tim Reynolds made a terrific pitch and Watson grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Reading comeback.
