Bearers Absorb 6-2 Loss at The Cornfield
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Perwiro Amaya, the Iowa Crop Circles defeated the St. Paul Bearers, 6-2. Amaya went 1 for 3 with a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Crop Circles. Judd Pérez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Darrell Holmes suffered the loss. The Crop Circles are now 31-19, while the Bearers fall to 27-25.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the fifth, Amaya had a key at-bat for Iowa. With a runner on 3rd, Amaya hit a run-scoring single off Darrell Holmes, making the score 3-2, Crop Circles.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Amaya said after the game.
