The Chicken Coop hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

Fernando Hernández was outstanding against Newark. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the AP in wins with 6, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Chicken Haulers 1-0 win. Newark has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Hernández ran roughshod over the Newark lineup. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. With the victory, he goes to 6-5 on the season.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Hernández told the Amarillo News.
