Ridge Raptors Snag 7-4 Win
|
Redstone first baseman Dave Velasco played a vital role in his team's 7-4 triumph over Havana. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Redstone. Miguel Cavazos came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Redstone, with the win, is 19-38.
Velasco had a timely hit for Redstone in the top of the ninth. With Havana trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-2 forkball into a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 7-4, Redstone.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Velasco told the Redstone Bulletin.
