Riding the 2-hit performance of the 26-year old right fielder Tom Quinn, the Washington Monuments defeated the Honolulu High Tide, 10-2. The Monuments sport a record of 24-35.

Gilberto Amador had a big 2-run double for the Monuments in the top of the fifth inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Stephen Brooks, who is tied for 10th in the AP in strikeouts with 76, and swatted a double to center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monuments ahead, 3-0.

Honolulu manager Mark Sambor called the blowout loss "not what we had in mind."
