Taylor, Railbirds Wallop Chicken Haulers, 10-2
|
Reading first baseman Greg Taylor made his presence felt in the 10-2 Railbirds triumph over the Amarillo Chicken Haulers. Taylor was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. José Féliz got the win, improving to 9-2. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Reading is now 34-30.
Taylor contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Reading in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Taylor took a fastball from Jorge Olivarez and stroked the home run to right-center. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Railbirds to leap in front, 2-1.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Taylor told the Reading Citizen.
