Glacier Bay Pins 5-2 Loss on Reading
|
The Glacier Bay Ice Pirates got a strong performance from pitcher Ron Collins, who stymied the visiting Reading Railbirds en route to a win, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Round 2. The Railbirds could never get a bead on the right-handed Collins, who threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Ice Pirates now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.
In the bottom of the second, Mike Wood delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Glacier Bay center fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Ice Pirates in front, 5-2.
"We aren't quitting," Reading manager Slam Dunks said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, October 8th , 2073.
