With right-hander Jon Gilmore leading the charge, the Cape Canaveral Launch got past the Michigan Militia, 5-4, in extra innings in Game 2 of the Round 2. Gilmore threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs at Assembly Line Grounds as Cape Canaveral managed to grab a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Mark Armstrong came through with a big-time hit for Cape Canaveral. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Launch manager Mike Best.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Assembly Line Grounds in Detroit.
