Launch Rally Past Burn to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Cape Canaveral Launch took the first game of the Round 4 in dramatic fashion today, topping the Death Valley Burn with a ninth-inning walk-off 3-2 victory. Burn pitcher Julian Boyd had a productive, if futile, game. He threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Cape Canaveral trailing 2-1, Miguel Morales hit a fastball from John Gates for a 2-run home run, giving the Launch the walk-off win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Morales said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Launch Pad in Cape Canaveral.
