Chicken Haulers Lose at Home, 2-1, to Mexico City
|
The Mexico City Diablos took Amarillo pitcher Paco Ramírez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Chicken Coop. The final score had Mexico City getting past the Chicken Haulers, 2-1. Ramírez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Scott Miller, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-5. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 4. The winning streak has now reached 8 games for Mexico City.
Eric Ward, the 29-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ward contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Mexico City up, 2-1.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Ward.
