Militia Squelch Cheesesteaks Offense in Shutout Win
|
Riku Mainila was locked and loaded, helping the Michigan Militia beat the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 3-0. In 6.2 innings, Mainila surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. The Militia now have a mark of 31-32.
The Militia got a big at-bat from first baseman Israel Rivera. For the game, Rivera was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Michigan a 3-0 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mainila told the Michigan Bulletin.
