Burns Leads Launch to 9-3 Win Over Aces
|
Derek Burns made an impact in the 9-3 Cape Canaveral win over Atlantic City. Burns, who is tied for 5th in the AP in triples with 5, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Felipe Delgado got the win, improving to 5-4. He held the Aces to 3 runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 13 and walking 2. Germán Salazar sewed up the save, his 3rd.
Mark Armstrong went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Cape Canaveral. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Hsu Kau. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Armstrong.
After today's action, Cape Canaveral sits at 33-35, while Atlantic City falls to 33-35.
